“NOBU” Spicy Tofu Crispy Rice

Have you heard of NOBU’s spicy tuna on crispy rice? We have something special for you! Here is our Spicy Tofu Crispy Rice. This going to be your next favourite party dish. This recipe is deliciously good and pretty healthy too! Who needs NOBU when you have this!


Makes approx. 8+

What you'll need:

Cheese grater
Rectangular sushi mold

Piping bag

1.5 cups cooked sushi rice
1 block of oomé Just Smoke smoked tofu
1 tbsp each gochujang and Japanese kewpie mayo

1 pepper (chopped)
1 avocado (chopped)

1 cup kimchi (chopped)


1. Using a microplane grater, grate 6 tbsp of tofu;
2. Mix grated tofu, gochujang, kewpie mayo, and all of the ingredients in a bowl together;
3. Place enough rice in the sushi mold to cover bottom of mold and a well in the middle;
4. Place rice mold into the air fryer. Sprinkle your favourite furikake, spray some EVOO;
5. Set air fryer time to 10 mins. Remove the crispy rice mold and lay to rest for 5-10 mins.
6. Once cooled, Fill the spicy tofu mixture into a piping bag. Pipe tofu mixture on top of crispy rice generously. Once you have finished piping your mixture garnish with a drizzle of kewpie mayo, chopped avocado, or with any of your favourite toppings.
7. Repeat with the remainder of rice and enjoy!
